TCN, B&NES Council and BuroHappold Masterclass

Written by TCN

TCN transforms unloved buildings into surprising places that help businesses thrive.

A decade ago, the Newark Works was a derelict asset and a poor tribute to the famous Stothert & Pitt craneworks that once stood there.

The site’s constraints made development unviable and unappealing – yet thanks to the efforts of a joint venture between B&NES Council and TCN, it is being restored as a thriving hub for creative industries, and the cornerstone of an ambitious new Creative Quarter, Bath Quays.

Bath Quays South was featured in the government’s Levelling Up Prospectus as an example of the successful allocation and use of public funds.

Buro Happold, B&NES Council and TCN share their journey and their thoughts on how a strong public-private partnership can unlock and regenerate complex inner city brownfield sites.
