For start-up or mature businesses looking to establish offices in a thriving urban location, Bristol had just what they were looking for. But for smaller, high growth companies searching for interesting workspaces in the same city, the pickings were distinctly slimmer.
TCN saw the potential to change all that, and set about establishing its own unique creative cluster. Temple Studios, a once derelict 1930s building, is now a thriving hub for the creative and digital industries in the heart of the Bristol Enterprise Zone.
Though the restoration of the building required an investment of £3 million, we were careful to maintain many of its distinct and original features. The building has been designed to have a bold, contemporary, industrial feel. In fact, Temple Studios’ unique style is evident the moment you step through its doors; the reception itself has been housed within a shipping container.
Not only do our occupiers love this cost-effective workspace within an environment designed to inspire creativity, but we won the ‘Enterprise Zone Business of the Year’ award for it too.
Temple Studios has run at full occupancy since it opened in May 2013. The building was refinanced after completion and, along with a significant return on cost, has resulted in the majority of equity being returned to investors with an ongoing income return. What’s more, with TCN continuing to manage the building, we’re ensuring that Temple Studios’ unique community atmosphere remains fostered and encouraged.
